Sidra Medicine and Hamad Medical Corporation to Co-host QPEM 2024

08 January 2024, Doha, Qatar Sidra Medicine and Hamad Medical Corporation will co-host the 8th Qatar Pediatric Emergency Conference (QPEM) from 19 to 21 January 2024. QPEM 2024 aims is to provide high-quality, evidence-based updates for healthcare practitioners involved in the urgent and emergent care of children.

More than 30 local and international speakers will be speaking at QPEM 2024 on topics ranging from managing common yet potentially dangerous conditions; research in pediatric emergency medicine and incorporating quality and patient safety into practice.

This year’s conference will be virtual – making it accessible to a larger cohort of attendees locally, regionally and internationally.

Prof. Khalid Al Ansari, Chair of Emergency Medicine at Sidra Medicine who is leading the QPEM 2024 Scientific Planning & Organizing Committee said: “The Qatar Pediatric Emergency Medicine conference series has grown from strength to strength. The knowledge sharing and insights have been instrumental in helping us advance and implement new methodologies and develop key partnerships and relationships, that have had a positive impact on furthering Qatar’s pediatric emergency care services.”

“QPEM 2024 will focus on best evidence in the management of critically ill neonates and children covering a variety of medical, surgical, traumatic, behavioral, and technology-assisted presentations. It will cover the interventions needed for a variety of toxicological ingestions – which tends to spike during camping season and also amongst toddlers at home who access household cleaning products. Attendees will also learn how to list the red flags and detail a systems based-approach when managing trauma,” continued Prof. Al-Ansari.

QPEM 2024 is an Accredited Group Learning Activity as defined by the Ministry of Public Health’s Department of Healthcare Professions-Accreditation Section and is approved for a maximum of 20 hours for Category 1. Learners will receive 20 hours Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.
