11 October 2023, Doha, Qatar – Sidra Medicine, a member of Qatar Foundation, is hosting the its annual Women’s Health Conference from the 27th to the 28th of October 2023.
Dr. Johnny Awwad, Chair of Women’ Services at Sidra Medicine said: “Women’s Wellness has taken on a much broader range in Qatar thanks to the advances across the healthcare network. Our Women’s Health Conference is a strong platform that will bring together the country’s best experts to share insights and best practice methodologies backed by evidence, on the emerging trends that will ultimately raise the bar for personalized women’s health and wellness services.”
Themed “Contemporary Issues in Women’s Health”, this year’s conference (WHC 2023) will cover a wide spectrum of women’s healthcare topics, from prevention to diagnostics and therapeutics. Examples of topics include Advances in fetal diagnosis and therapy; Screening and primary prevention in women’s health; Advances in prenatal and intrapartum care; Advances in management of gynecological conditions and Optimizing fertility and infertility prevention.
Dr. Gbemisola Okunoye, Division Chief of Obstetrics and Chair of the WHC 2023 Organising committee said: “Many of our sessions will appraise new preventive and therapeutic interventions aimed at women’s health promotion including emerging areas of controversies. We will be seeking to identify the potential roles and challenges in the integration of new technologies in promoting women’s health and appraising the key advances in fetal diagnosis, prenatal and peripartum care. We look forward to welcoming physicians, midwives, nurses and allied health professionals who will find the sessions informative, engaging and most importantly, help them identify areas of collaboration and improvement in the women’s wellness sector.”
Key speakers at WHC 2023 include experts from Sidra Medicine, Hamad Medical Corporation, Al Ahli, The View, the Feto Maternal Medical Center and The Military Medical Center. The conference will be hybrid event, featuring online and onsite registrations.
The Women’s Health Conference will be an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Category 1) as defined by the Ministry of Public Health’s Department of Healthcare Professions – Accreditation Section and is approved for 13 Continuous Medical Education points.
