QF Entity seeks to establish international partnerships in healthcare and research
3 October, 2023, Doha, Qatar – A delegation from Sidra Medicine (a member of Qatar Foundation), led by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Iyabo Tinubu-Karch, visited Rwanda recently to discuss areas of mutual collaboration in healthcare, medical education and research.
Senior members of the delegation included Prof. Ziyad M. Hijazi, Chief of International Patient Services and Ms. Olanrewaju Sanusi, Chief Financial Officer.
During the visit, the delegation met with Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana, the Minister of Health and Dr. Yvan Butera, the Minister of State, where they discussed high-level strategy and partnerships as well as international patient transfers, medical education and research-based collaborations for genome sequencing.
Dr. Tinubu-Karch stated “Sidra Medicine is keen to develop relationships with strategic global healthcare partners. Our expertise in specialized pediatrics and women’s wellness coupled with our capabilities in precision medicine, is an opportunity for us to share best practices that can help advance healthcare and improve patient outcomes.”

We were very impressed with the implementation of several healthcare projects and programs in the country. There is much to learn from each other and we are looking forward to developing a strong collaboration with our counterparts and partners in Rwanda.”
The delegation visited the Kigali Health City project, a soon-to-be launched healthcare hub which includes several specialist facilities such as IRCAD, a cardiac center under the patronage of Sir Magdy Yacoub and the Kigali University Teaching Hospital. They also went to the King Faisal Hospital Rwanda, a multi-specialty quaternary hospital and the Rwamagana Level Two Teaching Hospital.
