Course Overview
This is MEFS Pre-Congress Course designed to enhance the professional development of young scientists. It focuses on essential skills for conducting and evaluating scientific research, including research methodologies, ethical considerations, data management, and effective communication/publication. Join us in empowering your research journey and connect with peers and mentors in this dynamic learning environment.
Course Objectives
- Provide a comprehensive introduction to clinical research fundamentals, understanding of the significance and phases of clinical research including the key difference between observational and interventional studies.
- Equip participants with basic skills to design robust clinical studies and implement effective data management strategies.
- Guide researchers in structuring manuscripts, selecting appropriate journals and understanding the peer review process while highlighting common publication pitfalls. Have greater insight into the diagnosis of the most common pediatric pulmonology pathologies.
- Foster interactive learning throughout the program, allowing participants to share insights, and collaboratively address challenges in clinical research.

Speakers
Elizabeth Ginsburg, MD
Elizabeth S. Ginsburg MD is the Vice President of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and she will be President of the Society in 2025.
She is a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School, and the program director of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, and a staff physician at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Her clinical and research interests focus on infertility, in vitro fertilization and fertility preservation in cancer patients and survivors.
Jared Robins, MD
Dr. Robins is the chief Executive Officer of ASRM. He has an undergraduate degree from Emory University and obtained his MD from the State University of New York Stony Brook. Following an OB/GYN residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine he did his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Cincinnati. He also has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Dr. Robins is currently the CEO of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
In addition to his work in clinical care, Dr. Robins has been a prolific and well-funded researcher with numerous publications and grants. Dr. Robins has long been a member of ASRM and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, where he served as Education Committee Chair and Secretary Treasurer. He has been an Editorial Board member for Fertility and Sterility and a Board Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
