Joanne Davies, RM, MSC, CHSE

Director of the Simulation Center and Director of Life Support Training

Joanne has been a clinician for over 25 years, holds a Master’s Degree in Health Science and Education, is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, and has a Simulation Instructor Training certification from the Center for Medical Simulation-Harvard. Her international career includes leadership positions in the UK, several Middle Eastern countries, and in Australia.

Joanne has published and presented at numerous international conferences in the field of medical simulation including two chapters in a new clinical simulation book. She is also co-founder of the Qatar Simulation Consortium (QSC), an active member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH), and other international societies. Joanne is passionate about educating teams in training principles, feedback, and leadership skills to help improve outcomes in healthcare practices. Her work to date within Sidra Medicine has included building a simulation team, an extensive simulation program, and working with international architects on the design and build of an advanced simulation center.

Ella Scott

Senior Simulation Operations Manager

Ella is a Registered Nurse and a Registered Sick Children’s Nurse with a background in Pediatric Critical care. She has worked in the UK, Australia, and throughout developing countries with the International Red Cross. She holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of New South Wales and has worked within Pediatric education and simulation for 16 years.

Before coming to Sidra Medicine, Ella commissioned two Simulation Centers in Sydney and holds certification from the Boston Bristol Simulation Instructors Masterclass program. Ella remains an active member of the IPSS (International Pediatric Simulation Society) and has previously served as a board member and executive member. Ella is currently on the IPSS International teaching faculty and has taught in Hyderabad India in 2015 and Vellore March 2018. Her special interests include virtual reality, pediatric robotics, and use of simulation for preparing children for surgery and procedures.

Abdullah Sababha

Simulation Specialist

Abdullah studied and trained in Jordan and was Head Nurse of PICU at King Abdullah University Hospital for more than 10 years. He moved to King Saud Medical City in Riyadh to serve as a Simulation Specialist in the American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center Faculty. His professional interests include facilitating workshops in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU), Erectile Dysfunction (ED), and Trauma in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Bassem Tarhini

Simulation Specialist

Educated in Lebanon, Bassem spent several years working as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Lecturer. At Saad Specialist Hospital in Saudi Arabia, he spent four years as a Clinical Support nurse before moving to King Saud University Hospital to serve as a Simulation Specialist.

Bassem currently works on development of new simulation programs at Sidra Medicine that supports the organization’s goals in healthcare training.

Ronald Tyron B. Dela Rosa

Simulation Technologist

Tyron is a Registered Nurse and has solid background in clinical simulation, curriculum development, research, quality assurance (KPI), program administration for residency training programs, and course administration. He holds a Master’s degree in Nursing with a major in Supervision and Management. He began his career in the Philippine Red Cross for two years as paramedic and first responder instructor and eventually moved to clinical academe as professor (ER, MS, and Pediatrics) and in bedside care. He currently holds AHA BLS instructor and Instructor Trainer of American Safety and Health Institute level 8 (ASHI).

Hellene Gabor

Simulation Technologist

Hellene’s background is in nursing and as a medical first responder with a humanitarian experience in international relief operations for the Red Cross. Before coming to Sidra Medicine, she participated in the commissioning and opening of the Medical Simulation Center-Oman and served as a Simulation Technologist. Hellene also teaches Life Support programs of the American Heart Association (AHA).

At Sidra Medicine, her role is assisting with simulation programs and working closely with the women’s services and specialist pediatric areas.

Mark Edwin Marayag

Simulation Technologist

Mark is a registered nurse with a strong background in critical care. Formerly a Simulation Technician and Coordinator with the Oman Medical Specialty Board, Mark is an active participant in medical simulation curriculum development for the residency programs in a variety of healthcare disciplines.

Nadim Osseily

Lead-Life Support Training

Nadim is a Registered Nurse with a background in Emergency and Critical Care. Educated in Lebanon, Nadim served as a volunteer with the Lebanese Red Cross and worked in Saudi Arabia for the past 12 years, 5 of which were spent as a Nursing Simulation Educator and Life Support Instructor and 7 as a Manager of Medical Simulation Center and Senior Life Support Instructor. Before coming to Sidra Medicine, Nadim established a reputable Simulation Center in Riyadh at Kind Saud University. His special interests include becoming the center of excellence in the state of Qatar and creating better work outcomes through innovation.

Bobbi Benson

Life Support Trainer

Bobbi is a former paramedic and has a Master’s degree in Learning and Technology. Over the past two decades, she has been an educator, most recently with the American Heart Association Center for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) with the AHA. Bobbi looks forward to contributing to the Sidra Medicine AHA Training Center and becoming the best center in the state of Qatar.

Neil O’Brien Yates

Life Support Trainer

Educated in London as a Registered Nurse, Neil has more than 20 years of experience in intensive care nursing, incorporating various disciplines such as cardiothoracic, renal, transplant, and respiratory. He has worked as a resuscitation officer at a large London teaching hospital where he taught neo natal, pediatric, and adult resuscitation.
