What type(s) of insurance do you accept?

Sidra Medicine has an agreement with Al Koot Insurance. We also accept patients who are currently out of our insurance provider network. We advise patients to check directly with their health insurance provider on their ability to claim reimbursement. Sidra Medicine also welcomes patients who wish to self-pay.

My insurance is not currently accepted; can I still visit Sidra Medicine?

Yes, Sidra Medicine accepts patients who are currently out of our insurance provider network plans. We advise patients to check directly with their health insurance provider on their ability to claim reimbursement. Sidra Medicine also welcomes patients who wish to self-pay.

Do you accept self-pay patients?

Yes, Sidra Medicine accepts patients who wish to self-pay. If you do not have health insurance or your insurance plan is currently out of our insurance provider network, please contact our Financial Counselor to help guide you and provide financial advice.

Is Sidra Medicine a private hospital?

Yes. Sidra Medicine is a private hospital and charges for all clinical services. However where Sidra Medicine is the only provider in Qatar of a specialist service, Sidra will only collect the customary Qatar copayment from the patient. This is applicable to both the Women’s and Children’s Services. Patients who are not residing in Qatar and do not have valid Qatar Resident Permit and who come through Sidra Medicine International Patient Affairs Office will be charged. For inquiries related to international referrals please contact international.services@sidra.org

How do I get a referral to Sidra Medicine?

We accept referrals from all healthcare providers (private and public sector) and in some instances by a school nurse or counselor. Our women’s services accepts self-referrals.

Appointments are required for all Outpatient Clinic and Inpatient Services for women, children and young people. Please note that this does not apply for the Children’s Emergency Department (CED) – which is open to the public. Parents bringing their child to the CED, will have their child assessed by experienced medical staff to determine the level of emergency and appropriate care options – immediate emergency care or urgent care.
Those children assessed as needing urgent care rather than emergency care will be given the option to be treated at the Sidra Urgent Care Center, for a fee, or to seek treatment at another service such as the Primary Health Care Centers.

I am a visitor to Qatar, do I have to pay?

Visitors to Qatar, i.e. those who are not residing in Qatar and do not have a valid Qatar Resident Permit, will be charged for accessing services at Sidra Medicine.

Visitors with private health insurance will be asked to pay at the time of service. An itemized statement will be prepared for the visitor to submit to their insurance carrier for reimbursement

Do I have to pay for Children’s Emergency Department care?

Sidra Medicine has a Children’s Emergency Department. If you are a parent whose child’s case has been determined to be urgent and not an emergency (after you bring them to the Children’s Emergency Department) – you have the option to choose to pay to have your child treated at the Urgent Care Center or seek care elsewhere.
