Prof. Janahi and his team will monitor the Continuous Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of senior medical staff. Such programs are a licensure requirement and are designed to maintain and improve practitioner knowledge, skills and attitude in a manner that assures safe and the most up to date medical practice processes and procedures. Sidra Medicine has been acknowledged as an accredited center for these programs by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners.

“Medical education is critical to ensuring the advancement of healthcare for patients and professionals alike. It is also one of the three pillars that form the foundation of Sidra Medicine’s mission to provide patient care and biomedical research. Qatar national health strategy is making great strides, and we have a duty to share our knowledge and inspire future healthcare professionals. As an advocate for continuous learning, I am very excited about how we will develop and mentor a new generation of specialist doctors coming out of the country. Ultimately what motivates me is that together, we can help support the progress of healthcare services for women and children,” said Prof. Janahi.

Prof. Janahi will also oversee extended fellowship programs including accredited residency programs from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education – International (ACGMEI), a body directly aligned with ACGME, which is responsible for accrediting the majority of graduate medical training programs for physicians in the United States.

Commenting on the high profile appointment, Dr. John Ferguson, Chief Medical Officer at Sidra Medicine said, “We are honoured to have a distinguished physician of Prof. Janahi’s caliber take on these important roles at Sidra. He brings a wealth of academic and clinical experience.
