Sidra Medicine received over 2300 applications as a result of its National Recruitment Open Day on 13 August 2017. The event targeted more than 100 entry level and mid-level medical administration careers at Sidra Medicine for Qataris and those with Qatari mothers.
Dr. Kholode Al Obaidli, Chief Learning Officer at Sidra Medicine said, “Our recruitment open day was a huge success with over 1300 visitors in a span of 12 hours! I was very pleased to see the growing interest that our young Qataris have in joining the healthcare sector. The enthusiasm, curiosity and eagerness displayed by the visitors, makes me really proud to work for an organization like Sidra Medicine that continues to attract talent amongst the community and abroad. I would like to thank the young applicants and their families who took the time to come see us and ask questions about potential careers at Sidra Medicine. The open day also featured a signing ceremony between Chief Executive Officer, Peter Morris, Chief Learning Officer, Dr. Kholode Al Obaidli from Sidra Medicine and Dr. Abdallah Hazaimeh, the Dean of the Community College of Qatar (CCQ).
Sidra Medicine has partnered with CCQ to offer a customised four month “Healthcare Office Skills” program. Candidates who are selected for some of the medical administration roles, will embark on the program immediately after joining the organization. It includes courses such as medical office administration, medical terminology for healthcare, health information management systems and business computer applications.
“We are now in the process of reviewing all the applications we received online and in-person. Our team will reach out to candidates whose applications have been successful for a first round of interviews. Due to the large volume of applications, candidates can expect to hear from us within the next four weeks. High School graduate applicants for the Unit Clerk vacancy who meet the job criteria will be invited to undertake a language exam and if successful, offered the opportunity to be part of our training program. Their journey of development and learning will continue with several important development programs that we have customised for Qataris working in healthcare. We are very excited to welcome a new generation of young talent who will play a very important role in advancing healthcare for the people of Qatar,” concluded Dr. Kholode.
Sidra Medicine has advertised for administration-based roles across the organization in sections such as the various clinical management groups, finance, radiology, patient experience.
