About the Physician
Dr Omair Mohammed Syed is an Attending Physician in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He joined Sidra Medicine in September 2022.
As an Emergency Medicine physician, Dr. Syed specializes in Pediatric trauma, Point of Care ultrasound, life support, pediatric sedation, pediatric airways and regional nerve blocks.Before moving to Qatar, Dr. Syed was the Lead Consultant of the Pediatric Emergency Department and Lead Consultant for Point of Care Ultrasound. He is a faculty on the Cambridge Ultrasound course accredited by the RCEM, UK.
Dr. Syed is also an Examiner for the RCEM examinations, London (UK). He is currently the Vice-Chair of the Pediatric Sedation Committee at Sidra Medicine.

Educational Interests - Dr. Syed enjoys teaching on life support courses – ALS (Resus council, UK), APLS (ALSG, UK), ATLS (American College of Surgeons). He has been an Instructor in the UK and Saudi Arabia. He teaches on simulations to doctors and nurses in the Emergency Department at Sidra. He also teaches on the Pediatric Sedation Course, Pediatric Airway Course, Regional Nerve block Course and POCUS Course in Q-PEM/Sidra.
- In his previous role, Dr. Syed was a panel member on the Annual Review of Clinical Progression (ARCP) for trainees in Emergency Medicine in the UK and an interviewer for the national recruitment of trainees in Emergency Medicine.
