  • About the Physician

    Dr. Sarpal joined Sidra Medicine in February 2019 as a senior attending pediatric critical care physician with dual training in pediatric critical care and pediatric palliative care. She worked previously at the University of Western Ontario, where she had been a practicing pediatric intensivist for approximately six years.

    Dr. Sarpal is the subspecialty fellowship program director for Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.  Her clinical and academic interests include improving patient care through improved communication, including enhancements to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and palliative care.  Dr. Sarpal recently established Palliative Care Network - Qatar (PCN-Q), a volunteer-driven network of like-minded individuals whose passion includes palliative care and supporting patients and their caregivers at the end of life.

    Drawing on her expertise in critical care, palliative care, medical education, and professional executive coach skills, her research focus includes postgraduate medical education, communication, end-of-life care, palliative care, health care provider distress, and resilience.
