Our respiratory therapy team provides services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and high-risk obstetrical patients. Patients are referred to respiratory therapy for many cardiopulmonary disorders, which may include asthma, emphysema, bronchiolitis, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, or lung cancer. Respiratory Therapists are called to assist patients who have suffered traumatic injury, or even cardiac arrest.
Respiratory Therapy may involve:
- Managing life support ventilation systems
- Cardiopulmonary assessments
- Pulmonary lung function testing
- Practicing breathing techniques
- Oxygen therapy
- Humidity therapy
