Assessment

When your child is referred to the Developmental Pediatrics Clinic you will be invited to an appointment where your child’s development will be assessed. Depending on your child’s developmental concerns you may see one or several of our team members. The assessment may be completed in one or multiple appointments.

Please write down any questions you have and bring them to your appointment for the team to address during your visit.

What happens following your child’s assessment?

After the assessment is complete, members of the Developmental Pediatrics Clinic team will talk to you about their observations and how the team can help your child achieve their best. If your child needs ongoing help, he/she will be referred to the appropriate therapy services.

Recommendations for appropriate educational placement will also be offered. The clinic will also give you advice about other community activities that will benefit your child.
