Sam Lock

Executive Director of Commercial Development

Sam Lock is the Executive Director of Commercial Development at Sidra Medicine. He joined the organization in April 2024, where he is responsible for leading its commercialization, business development and marketing initiatives.

Mr. Lock has over 15 years’ experience across commercial, operational and financial disciplines in the healthcare sector.

Prior to joining Sidra Medicine, Mr. Lock was the Regional Chief Operating Officer (Midlands) at HCA Healthcare UK, where he held a long-standing career. In particular he oversaw the development, commissioning and opening of the £100m Harborne Hospital, where he was accountable as its Registered Manager.

Previously, he was the Director of NHS Partnerships, responsible for multi-million pound investment cases - and, prior to that - Head of Business Development in the same organization; focusing on HCA UK’s NHS partnership network.

He is also a Board Trustee of the Dragonfly Cancer Trust, and previously worked as a Healthcare Financial Distress practitioner at PriveWaterhouseCoopers. He formatively held operational positions within the NHS across a range of surgical and medical services.

An Executive development program graduate, Mr. Lock has a Master of Arts in Leadership and Management from Buckinghamshire New University, and a Bachelor of Arts in French and Italian from the University of Warwick, U.K.
