Dr. Dina Schnurman
Executive Director of Quality, Patient Experience and Health Informatics
Dr. Dina Schnurman is the Executive Director of Quality, Patient Experience and Health Informatics at Sidra Medicine, a women’s and children’s hospital in the State of Qatar. Dr. Schnurman joined Sidra Medicine in 2014, where she has continually contributed to the quality and patient safety agenda for the hospital.
With over 20 years of nursing experience in healthcare and a dedication to quality and safety, Dr. Schnurman is responsible for improving clinical outcomes, clinical practice, and nursing education. She has a focused background in pediatric oncology, bone marrow transplant, and clinical research and has worked collaboratively with agencies across Qatar and internationally.
Dr. Schnurman has extensive experience in designing, developing and implementing evidence-based, organization-wide systems to drive assessment, improvement and evaluation. She has been instrumental in implementing performance and process improvement in healthcare settings in the United States and the Middle East and in applying change management principles, tools, and techniques at multiple levels throughout her career. Specific projects she has been heavily involved in include standardization of care processes, decreasing time to antibiotic administration, and numerous projects related to the management of central lines and CLABSI.
Dr. Schnurman is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Calgary Qatar and is an active member of the National Association for Healthcare Quality and works as an improvement advisor on multiple projects. She also serves at the National level in Qatar on developing strategies and initiatives related to patient safety and the healthcare workforce.
She holds a bachelor of arts from Rutgers College; a bachelor of science in Nursing from Old Dominion University in Virginia: and a master of science/master of business administration from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. She recently completed her doctorate in nursing practice at the University of Pittsburgh.
