Biomedicine Research
At Sidra Medicine we believe that research in biomedicine has to be performed by giving complete freedom to the investigator to tackle key biological problems. We cultivate an atmosphere of scientific liberty while promoting cooperation between scientists at different levels. The organization of research in thematic programs provides our scientists with a forum for working in different disciplines, exchanging viewpoints and ideas, and targeting problems in each area.
Research at Sidra Medicine Research Branch is organized in Research Programs, based on specific research topics that are relevant for Sidra Medicine. These topics are defined as the Strategic Areas of Sidra Medicine:
- Genetics and Genomics
- Diabetes and Metabolism
- Mother and Child Health
These research programs are formed by epidemiologists, experimentalists, computational biologists and clinicians. These transversal programs will become the core of the scientific activities of Sidra Medicine.
