08 November 2023, Doha, Qatar – Sidra Medicine (a QF entity) will host its annual Pediatric Neuroscience Conference from the 16th to the 18th of November 2023.
The Conference will bring together regional and international neuroscience experts to share insights and best practice methodologies related to the epidemiology and mechanisms of neurological diseases, neurometabolic and neuromuscular disorders.
Conference Co-Chairs, Dr. Husam Kayyali and Dr. Ruba Benini from the pediatric neurology department at Sidra Medicine said: “Sidra Medicine is proud to play a key role in bringing together neuroscience and neurosurgical pediatric experts from around the world to Qatar. The Pediatric Neuroscience Conference will include a variety of sessions that will cover recent advances in diagnostic and therapeutic interventions that have helped improve the health outcomes of children living with chronic neurological, neurometabolic and neurosurgical diseases. There will be a wide variety of topics such as neuromuscular disorders, neurodevelopmental co-morbidities in children with epilepsy; and infantile and childhood epilepsy syndromes.”
Regional speakers at this year’s conference include experts from Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. International speakers from Bristol Children’s Hospital (UK); University of Pittsburg (USA); The Hospital for Sick Children (Canada) will also be presenting at the conference.
Conference Co-Chair, Dr. Ian Pople, Division Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Sidra Medicine said: “This year’s conference will also focus on early diagnosis and novel therapies including diagnostic and treatment options such as gene therapy, neuroimaging; electroencephalogram (EEG); neurosurgery and epilepsy management related to genetics, diet and medication. Attendees to the Pediatric Neuroscience Conference can earn up to 10.50 Continuing Medical Education (CME) points. The in-person conference will be held at the Hilton Doha in West Bay (Diplomatic Street).
