Sidra Medicine conference brings together world experts to boost advanced therapies and treatments in Qatar

Sidra Medicine, a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and Qatar’s new hospital for children, young people, and women, has once again demonstrated its leadership in delivering the National Health Strategy 2030 by hosting one of Qatar’s highest profile events dedicated to accelerating advanced and experimental therapies.

This widely anticipated two-day conference which starts on Saturday 28th October brings together world-leading experts and practitioners from 10 countries to share knowledge and research and spur innovation in advanced treatments ranging from cellular, gene therapy, molecular targeted therapies and immunotherapy.

The one-of-a-kind event is the latest in the Sidra Symposia Series, a popular program that has attracted a large following in the country by equipping attendees to practice at the leading-edge of their field through accessing knowledge, ideas and best practice in a wide variety of clinical areas.

The upcoming conference will feature leading figures and experts from the Middle East, Europe and US. Key international speakers at the event include Soldano Ferrone, Faculty member of the Department of Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Adrian Thrasher, Professor of Paediatric Immunology at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, and Michele Maio, Director of the Center for Immuno-Oncology at University Hospital of Siena, amongst many others.

Providing a rich mixture of workshop sessions and keynote lectures, the conference is open to physicians, nurses, pharmacists, allied health providers, medical students and other practitioners who care for patients with oncological, hematological, immunology, inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. Attendance at the symposium provides a major boost to participant’s Continuing Medical Education (CME), since it is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Category 1) as defined by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners – Accreditation Department. Attendees can earn 14.75 CME points.
