Sidra Medicine continues to inspire next generation of Qatari healthcare professionals

Sidra Medicine has kick-started its updated Education Grant and Graduate Associate programs in 2015. Applications are now open for students to apply for the programs. The deadline for submission is the 31st May 2015.

The programs are designed to help shape the future Qatari workforce and empower local talent with the skills they need to succeed. The Education Grant program provides opportunities for Qatari students to study clinical related majors in both local and International universities. Sidra Medicine’s Graduate Associate program comprises of mentorships, a personal development plan and programs, to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills to excel at every step of their career progression.

The first round of applicants for the Education Grant program, were recently assessed during the 8th Annual UK Career Fair for Qatari Students in London. Over 150 students from leading universities in the UK visited the Sidra Medicine booth.

Sidra Medicine’s participation from 20-21 February, was led by the National Development Team, included a keynote address by Sidra Medicine’s Member of the Office of the CEO and Executive Vice Chief Medical Officer Dr. Abdulla Al Kaabi. Dr. Al Kaabi helped students envision what a successful career in medicine can look like by sharing his personal journey. “I am encouraged to see the increasing number of Qatari students studying science and medicine over the years. The young talent I meet overseas are some of the best young minds globally and I hope to welcome some of them to Sidra Medicine as colleagues soon,” he said.

Following the success of the UK Qatar Career Fair, Dr. Eiman Al Ansari, Executive Director of Learning and Development at Sidra Medicine said, “We are currently assessing the applications that we received from the applicants from the UK Career fair and will be in touch with them regarding the next stage of the interview and application process. We are looking forward to welcoming a new generation of healthcare leaders into our organization.”

The National Development team was recently at Qatar University’s 9th Career Forum from 9th to 12th March 2015. The team will also be participating in the Wakrah Career Fair on the 18th of March at Al Wakrah Independent School for Boys.
