In recent years, a tremendous amount of work has highlighted the relationship between microbiota (which includes microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, archea in or on our body) and diseases such as obesity, cancers, diabetes, infectious diseases etc.. as well as pregnancy complications such as preterm birth. Manipulating the microbiota in the human body can be key for improving disease prognosis.
We are excited to announce the inaugural cycle of the: Middle East and North Africa Human Microbiome Conference: “From biomarkers discovery to Microbiota-based therapeutics” (MENA Microbiome). The conference will take place on September 28-29th, 2024 in Qatar.
The MENA Microbiome aims to bring together leading microbiome experts, researchers, and stakeholders from around the world and the MENA region to present their latest findings, foster collaboration and knowledge exchange while offering insights into the specific challenges and opportunities presented by the local environment.
With the human microbiome research network growing in the MENA region, our event will be a significant step towards establishing the region as a hub for microbiome research and innovation. By providing a platform for interdisciplinary discussions, we aim to accelerate advancements in understanding the role of microbiome in human health and disease and develop strategies tailored to the unique genetic and environmental factors prevalent in the MENA population. Our primary focus will be on examining the role of the microbiome in diseases affecting women and pediatric populations.
We are honored to have Dr. Rayana Bou Haka, World Health Organization (WHO) Representative and Head of WHO Office in the State of Qatar along with Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, at Hamad Medical Corporation to give the opening remarks of the event.
We invite researchers, clinicians, students, policymakers, and industry professionals to join us in this collaborative journey towards unlocking the potential of microbiome for the benefit of our communities.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of this event.
Join us in Qatar for the inaugural Middle East and North Africa Microbiome Event – where knowledge converges for a healthier, and a more sustainable future.
