Gastroenterology Study Day
Overview
From 2016 and now in its 8th year, Sidra Medicine’s Gastroenterology Division allocates one day annually to discuss gastrointestinal problems that are commonly seen in the primary care and secondary care sectors in Qatar.
Done in collaboration with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals, Gastroenterology Study Day’s aim is to raise awareness and provide a discussion platform about best practices in approaching patients suspected to have any gastrointestinal problems.
The event includes side-by-side practical sessions and hands-on experience on various procedures and services offered by Sidra Medicine’s Gastroenterology team.
Objectives
- Discuss gastrointestinal problems that are commonly seen in the primary care and secondary care facility in Qatar
- Discuss best practices in approaching patients suspected in having any of these gastrointestinal problems.
- Facilitate the referral process from primary and secondary care to Sidra Medicine services by giving guidance on the referral criteria
- Raise awareness of available evidence-based management approach of commonly seen gastrointestinal problems among healthcare providers in Qatar which will ensure a better patient care and outcomes.

3rd Surgical Annual Research Day (SARD)
Overview
The acronym SARD in Arabic means “narrating” and is meant to represent the exchange of information.
Now in its third year, Sidra Medicine’s Surgical Annual Research Day (SARD) 2025 is a multidisciplinary effort to share our work around clinical research.
Conference Objective
- Describe the current status of research in pediatric surgical subspecialties locally and internationally.
- Outline available resources for clinical research and quality improvement projects.
- Explain the processes required to conduct research or a quality improvement project.
- Appraise and evaluate the selected presented research and quality projects that have been conducted.
- Create an annual gathering to allow the exchange of valuable information from research and quality projects in surgery.
