Objectives

1. Oxygenation

1. Discuss various forms of oxygenation techniques during pediatric airway management
2. Explain deleterious effects of hypoxemia and hyperoxia, and the potential dangers of some oxygenation techniques
3. Hands on practice and feedback on technique

2. Intubation

1. Describe techniques to safely securing airway in pediatric patients
2. Demonstrate various devices that can be used to secure the airway
3. Practice securing airway and feedback

3. Mechanical Ventilation

1. Describe different modes of ventilation in infants and children
2. Discuss modes of ventilation in special situations
3. Scenario based modes and feed back

4. USG vascular access

1. Describe effective ways of using USG for vascular access
2. Discuss various techniques of placing vascular catheters
3. Practice on dummies and feed back

5. Perioperative PALS

1. Identify perioperative cardiopulmonary collapse
2. Discuss effective resuscitation techniques
3. Practice hands-on and receive feedback

6. Perioperative Adverse Events

1. Recognize perioperative serious adverse events
2. Discuss ways of effectively managing perioperative serious adverse events
3. Develop Case based plan for managing adverse events, team work and feed back.
