Graduate Medical Education Programs
Our Graduate Programs are one of the most critical functions of our Medical Education Office. This division is responsible for overseeing and managing residency and fellowship postgraduate training programs across Sidra Medicine’s clinical management groups. The division is responsible for setting the governance structure for residency and fellowship programs. It also ensures training programs align with international medical education training standards and patient care is delivered to the highest quality and standards.
Sidra Medicine is recognized as a major Participating Site for Residents and Fellows enrolled in Pediatrics Residency and Fellowship Training Programs. We provide a wide range of pediatric subspecialty training programs that promise future medical graduates a unique clinical experience combined with technology and medical modalities in advanced facilities. Sidra Medicine also offers opportunities to engage in research projects when joining our residency and fellowship training programs.
Sidra Medicine is the sponsoring institution of advanced sub-specialty training programs aligned with ACGMEI accreditation standards in Pediatrics Medicine, Pediatric Surgery, and Women’s Healthcare.

The Graduate Medical Education Division offers faculty development programs for Sidra Medicine doctors, clinical educators, and healthcare professionals contributing to the teaching and education of medical students, residents, and fellows. The Faculty Development Program aims to enhance the clinical teaching skills of doctors and clinical educators working closely with GME and UME programs. These train faculty on assessment tools and effective and constructive feedback techniques which ultimately improve the educational experience and of medical trainees at Sidra Medicine.
The Faculty Development Program prepares and orients program directors and faculty on international accreditation processes and how to align training curriculum with desired accreditation standards.

Dr. Abdulwahed Zainel – Pediatric Resident
He is a May 2014 Qatari medical graduate from Weill Cornell Medical College – Qatar. Dr. Abdulwahed Zainel was sponsored by Sidra Medicine during his medical education studies. After graduation, Dr. Abdulwahed Zainel was granted scholarship by Sidra Medicine to join the Pediatrics Residency Training Program at HMC. He will be completing is 4-year Residency Training Program in July 2018 and is currently preparing to pursue his fellowship training program in Pediatrics Community in Canada.
Dr. Bothaina Al-Mulla – OB/GYN Resident
She is a May 2011 Qatari medical graduate from Weill Cornel Medical College – Qatar. Dr. Bothaina Al-Mulla was sponsored by Sidra Medicine to study Medicine at Weill Cornel Medical College in Qatar. After graduation, Dr. Bothaina Al-Mulla received a scholarship from Sidra Medicine to complete her Master’s Degree in Health Management in Strategic Management and Leadership at City University of London, UK.
Upon the successful completion of her Master’s Degree, Dr. Bothaina Al-Mulla decided to continue her medical education and joined the Obstetrics/Gynecology Residency Training Program at HMC in July 2015. Dr. Bothaina Al-Mulla is successfully progressing in her residency training at HMC. She is expected to complete her residency and join Sidra Medicine to work in Women’s Health Services.
