Interventional Radiology
Interventional Radiology comprises techniques which allow minimally-invasive procedures to be performed inside a patient under imaging guidance, thus enabling a procedure to be carried out inside the patient while directing and observing the procedure from the outside using ultrasound, x-ray or other medical imaging techniques. The procedure is typically performed through a 2-5mm incision.
Our services are available for children as well as female patients from our Women’s Services such as gynecology or obstetrics.

We at Sidra Medicine strive to use the safest, least invasive procedures possible. This is why we have equipped our facility with interventional radiology.
Facility
Sidra Medicine has one of the most advanced interventional radiology suites in the world, in particular for a pediatric hospital. We have a suite of multiple rooms each offering multiple imaging modalities, such as single and biplane fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography, and the region’s first Interventional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Suite (IMRIS). This suite of rooms allows different practitioners to perform a series of procedures on one patient under one anesthetic, delivering comprehensive ‘one-stop’ care for patients.
Staff
Our team comprises two fellowship trained interventional radiologists, nurses, technologists, and clerical staff, plus an anesthesiology-provided sedation and general anesthetic service and Child Life to provide the best patient experience possible. We are positioned to be a leading center in the Middle East for pediatric interventional procedures.
