General Pediatrics

1. General Pediatric Inpatient Unit focuses on assessment and treatment with high quality family-centered care. We provide care to children presenting with acute and complex, multisystem diseases, or undiagnosed conditions requiring multidisciplinary care and close partnership with pediatric sub-specialty clinical services.
2. Pediatric Outpatients Consultation Clinics – Referrals accepted from pediatricians and family doctors who require a second opinion or assessment and management by an interdisciplinary team.
3. Pediatrics Complex Care program brings benefit to children living with multiple complex chronic conditions and life limiting diseases. The aim is to close any gaps in care, improve coordination of care, foster collaboration and achieve excellence in the delivery of services to and the outcomes for every child in our care who lives with complex long-term medical conditions.

Conditions we treat as an Outpatient include:

• Recurring urinary tract infections (UTI)
• Chronic constipation
• GERD’s disease
• Asthma
• Developmental delays
• Obesity
• Failure to thrive
• Stunted growth
• Chronic lymphadenopathy
• Post-hospital discharge care for high risk patients
• Other common general pediatrics disease

Common pediatric in-patient conditions we treat:

• Sepsis and Bacteremia
• Meningitis and Encephalitis
• Asthma, bronchiolitis and pneumonia
• Bone and Joint infection
• Complex, multisystem, undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions requiring multidisciplinary approach and care (e.g., children with genetic, developmental and neurological conditions and others)
• Children undergoing diagnostic investigations to establish diagnoses such as: cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatological diseases etc.
