Developmental Pediatrics Services at Sidra Medicine
Children are referred to the Developmental Pediatrics clinic when parents, healthcare or education professionals have concerns about a child’s learning or development. The Clinic provides services to children up to 18 years of age and their families.
Children with developmental disorders should be diagnosed and treated by people with special expertise in this field. At Sidra Medicine children are assessed by our team of knowledgeable developmental pediatricians and therapists. Parents and families play an important role in a child’s development and Sidra Medicine’s Developmental Team provides education and support to families so that you can help your child learn and grow to reach their very best potential.

Teach Me How: Parenting a Child with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Our ‘Teach Me How’ parent-focused education program on Autism Spectrum Disorder, is available in-person (English) or online (Arabic). The program teaches parents behavioural management and communications strategies and provides them with access to a supportive network and resources. ‘Teach Me How’ runs for four sessions weekly and program fees are applicable.
- Virtual course taught in Arabic, starting November 18 – Price per family 4,158 QAR
- In-person course taught in English, starting November 17 – Price per family 4,584 QAR

The Developmental Pediatrics Clinic consists of a multidisciplinary team who works together to provide the best possible care for your child.

- Any other neuro-developmental concern
Assessment
When your child is referred to the Developmental Pediatrics Clinic you will be invited to an appointment where your child’s development will be assessed. Depending on your child’s developmental concerns you may see one or several of our team members. The assessment may be completed in one or multiple appointments.
Please write down any questions you have and bring them to your appointment for the team to address during your visit.
What happens following your child’s assessment?
After the assessment is complete, members of the Developmental Pediatrics Clinic team will talk to you about their observations and how the team can help your child achieve their best. If your child needs ongoing help, he/she will be referred to the appropriate therapy services.
Recommendations for appropriate educational placement will also be offered. The clinic will also give you advice about other community activities that will benefit your child.
Once the assessment is complete, you will receive a comprehensive medical report of your child’s assessment.

Clinic Hours and Location
Our clinic operational hours are between 8:00 am to 13:00 pm Sunday to Thursday. We are located in OPC Building on Level 2M.
