Our Facilities
Patient Rooms
The patient rooms at Sidra Medicine include smart beds which automatically make adjustments to accommodate a patient’s needs. The beds are useful in preventing pressure ulcers by helping mobilize the patient in the bed. They can also help reduce the incidents of sleep apneas and elevate patients if required.

Clinical Rooms
Featuring state-of-the-art equipment and technologies allowing for current and for future innovations in care, the operating rooms at Sidra Medicine include top of the range medical equipment and robust processes for infection prevention and control and reconfiguration for patient positioning in the room.
Healing Gardens
Sidra Medicine has three healing gardens that were created as a visual and calming oasis in the main hospital. The vivid greens of the plants as well as the layout are structured to promote healing and respite. Patient rooms look out over the gardens and provide a view of plants and activity.

Children’s Play Area
The plaza level public play area was custom designed to reflect the regional culture of Qatar. We strive to create an environment that is accepting and encouraging of family participation in the patient care process, not just in the clinical areas but throughout the public spaces as well.
The Architecture of Sidra Medicine
Housed in a modern structure of steel, glass and white ceramic tile, Sidra Medicine has been purposefully designed to be a benchmark for healing environments throughout the world.
The design is the creation of world-renowned architect Cesar Pelli, designer of prestigious international projects such as the World Financial Center in New York, the Petronas Towers in Malaysia and the International Finance Centre in Hong Kong.
Pelli and his team at United States-based architecture firm Pelli Clarke Architects, conceived a signature design anchored by three towering sails. Tranquil healing gardens filled with greenery and water are dramatically housed within the quiet, naturally lit space these atriums provide. A separate outpatient clinic is connected to the main hospital by glass walkway that is similarly surrounded gardens and a reflective pool.
At the unveiling of the design in March 2007, Pelli remarked that the Sidra Medicine facility will be one of the most important medical and research centers in the world.

The three atriums of the Sidra Medicine hospital design were inspired by the sails of dhows, the small wooden boats that were traditionally used by the fishermen and pearl divers of Qatar.
The Mosque
The mosque located near the main hospital of Sidra Medicine, provides visual harmony, as well as visual variety, through the use of form, stone and architectural details. The abundance of natural light and calming colors in the interior space creates a welcoming, peaceful environment for contemplation and prayer.
Sidra Mosque is open 24 hours, 7 days a week and is located behind Hospital Building, between Tower A and Outpatient Clinic.

The Al Thani Heritage House is a historic house that belonged to Sheikh Abdallah bin Thani bin Jassim bin Muhammad Al Thani (1856-1943), also known as the Sheikh of Al Gharafa.
It is a reflection of Qatar’s traditional past and proudly sits side by side next to one of the most iconic high-tech facilities in the country – Sidra Medicine. It is located in front of the Outpatient Clinic. The building has been preserved as a heritage site to showcase Qatari traditional architecture and the layout of majlises and houses during early the 1900s.
